Patios & Fire Pits — Bloomington, MN
A poolside entertainment area designed for year-round enjoyment. Custom paver patio surrounds the pool with integrated fire pit and curved block seating wall, creating distinct zones for dining and lounging. Multi-tier retaining walls frame the space, adding dimension while managing the natural grade of the yard.
Retaining Walls — White Bear Lake, MN
What began as an unusable hillside became an elevated outdoor living space. A sweeping curved retaining wall holds the grade, topped with an iron railing that follows the arc. Boulder accents soften the hardscape, while the upper patio offers panoramic views of the tree line below — proof that challenging terrain can become the property's greatest asset.
Patios — Saint Paul, MN
A classic herringbone brick pattern radiates from the center of this circular patio, anchored by hand-laid stone steps and a low retaining wall. The design pays homage to old-world craftsmanship while fitting seamlessly into the established Saint Paul neighborhood. Every brick was cut and placed by hand to maintain the integrity of the pattern.
Staircases — Mendota Heights, MN
Carved into a Mendota Heights hillside, this stone staircase connects three levels of the property with natural-cut treads and boulder-flanked landings. Photographed at golden hour, the warm light reveals the texture of each hand-selected stone. Landscape lighting along the risers extends the usability well into evening.
Fire Pits — Rosemount, MN
A centered fire pit surrounded by a circular paver field and curved seating wall, built for gathering. The design is deliberate in its simplicity — clean lines, warm tones, and enough seating for the whole family. The fire pit's capstone matches the wall, creating a unified composition that feels both modern and timeless.
Walkways — Saint Paul, MN
The front entry sets the tone for everything behind it. This transformation replaced a crumbling concrete walkway with a paver path, stone steps, and flanking retaining walls that frame the entrance. Decorative lanterns and fresh plantings complete the welcome — a small project with outsized impact on curb appeal.
